Sophia LOVES her friends rat. I pretend my hand is the rat sitting on her shoulder and she pets it and kisses it. I'm tempted to buy her one but I'm scared she'd get it out and love it to death. We'll just have to visit more often.

Crawling Abbey

Abbey has been showing signs that she was going to crawl for a little while now.... well last night she took her first knee step! I got out the video camera and the battery was dead though. It's charged now so I'll post video very soon. She moves more when she's upset than happy. The trick of putting a toy in front of her to encourage her to crawl or me laying down in front of her doesn't work as well as standing out of her sight. She gets mad and I think it makes her stronger like the Hulk!

It truly is wonderful to see our little girls discovering the world and learning new things.

Tutu Project

I've been trying to make a tutu for about a week and 1/2 now. Between the 2 little ones and work I haven't been able to work more than 15-20 min straight on it. I got the insructions from http://www.sweetnsassygirls.com/2008/10/how-to-make-halter-tutu-dress.html I modified them slightly and I'm really happy how the first turned out. Instead of alternating the short tulle with the long I used the short and long together for the front, and long tulle for around the sides and back. I also used 3 colors in the attempt to make an irridescent tutu; purple, shimmery ivory, and light blue. It's a little itchy so I don't know how often Sophia will wear it. I plan to do a photo shoot when the weather is a little nicer though.
